System Administrator
Manage and maintain software, hardware, and networks, resolve issues, ensure security, monitor performance, and create comprehensive technical documentation
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain software, hardware, and networks, resolve issues, ensure security, monitor performance, train staff on new technologies, and create comprehensive technical documentation.
- Maintain, update and manage our software, hardware and networks
- Diagnose and solve problems and outages. Proactively communicate with different interdisciplinary teams and users
- Set up accounts and ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
- Monitor performance and maintain systems as required
- Develop skills to train staff on new technologies
- Create an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies
Requirements
Skilled in PowerShell, Auto IT scripting, and system administration with experience in Windows Server, networks, databases, security, and backup management, complemented by strong problem-solving, communication, and English language skills.
- Ability to write scripts in PowerShell and Auto IT Script (autoitscript.com); Python is a plus
- Experience as a systems administrator, network administrator or in a similar role with Windows Server
- Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
- Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
- Ability to solve problems and manage resources effectively
- A bachelor's or master's degree in a related field is a big plus; professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)) is a plus
- Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to present comfortably and clearly to different audiences
- Good verbal and written skills in English are a must
- Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in system administration
